[edit] What happens when I talk to myself

- Well, this is certainly an interesting talk page.
-- Yeah, thanks for pointing out it has nothing on it.
- I didn't say that.
-- You implied it.
- That's a load of nonsense.
--
- Oh, going to talk in invisible letters now?! Want to fight??
--
- ...

[edit] *stabbity*

You categorize articles with [[Category:Whatever]], not {{Category:Whatever}}--YoshiDude 20:13, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

There's a difference? Shit ;_; --Tatrion 13:32, 30 May 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Template Colors

Talk:Acmlm's Board Staff - I agree that the template colors suck, but I don't know what to replace them with. I think you have a better eye for color than me, which is why I'm telling you about it.

See how these colors fly for you- I wasn't sure if you wanted uniformity or not, so I based them off of their username colors. --Tatrion 17:39, 10 June 2006 (PDT)

Sexy. :D --YoshiDude 21:39, 10 June 2006 (PDT)
Wee. Looks ten times better. ~Grey Mario

[edit] Tatrion

So is the vowel a in your name suposed to be pronounced short or long?

Short.

Damn, I've always pronounced it wrong. >_<

[edit] You can do crap now!

I persuaded Xkeeper into SysOping you (actually it took a couple lines in AIM and five minutes of re-figuring out Mediawiki). So have fun doing stuff.

That's awesome! Thanks so much Xk and Mike!

[edit] Hi

How are ya? --142.163.12.36 19:38, 9 September 2006 (PDT)

Decent enough.

[edit] Roh Macking

[quote=Tatrion]Rohmacking really is the name of the board's IRC channel.[/quote] Oh.

Yeah, it's funny, isn't it? :P --Tatrion 18:20, 21 September 2006 (PDT)

[edit] some wikia have forced registration, more-or-less

I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Some Wikia have a system where an anonymous IP is notified after the first edit that he should register, and after so many edits (usually about five), the user may not edit anonymously anymore, and must register an account; failure to do so makes a week-long ban or something on the IP address. While it seems harsh, on less active wikis, it seems to work rather well against anonymous spam and such. What about it being done on AcmlmWiki? :D --Mike 13:27, 23 October 2006 (PDT)

(irc snip)
<Tatrion> While under normal circumstances I would agree with you (and I wish it COULD be done)
<Tatrion> but lots of the people that contribute do it anonymously, like Grey Mario, Price Kassad, etc
<Tatrion> I don't want to scare them off by forcing registsration
<Tatrion> registration*
<FreeDOS-plus> what's wrong with them registering?
<FreeDOS-plus> if it might cut off some spam, then I'd go for it
<Tatrion> Nothing is
<Tatrion> If it was my wiki, i'd have never allowed anon editing from the start
<FreeDOS-plus> wikis that completely disable anonymous editing = gay
<Tatrion> we could try it for a while... but I don't want even less participation in the wiki :/
<FreeDOS-plus> Maybe they'd only make one edit in their entire history there because there's a typo
<Tatrion> Hmm
<Tatrion> you know
<Tatrion> I never thought about that :/
<FreeDOS-plus> but we could simply message the regular-anonymous users and say "Hey, we're invoking this policy to cut back spam, blah blah"
<Tatrion> oh, that's a great idea
<Tatrion> hmm well
<Tatrion> the next time GM or Kassad do an edit
<Tatrion> whichever one of us catches them, tell them

[edit] Base off Wiki templates off the German Wikipedia?

So, now that the Wiki is back, I have something to tell.

Some of the templates and systems are either overly bloated (like the speedy deletion templates) or completely useless (like stubs). Now, there's the German Wikipedia, which has very simple solutions to things like deletion, QA, and other stuff, which are much better suited to a Wiki with the size of this one than the english counterparts. For example, for speedy deletions there is one template which you place on a page and enter the reason on. This is much better than the English system, which has like 10 templates and requires the creation of additional pages, which is not really useful for this Wiki.

If you're interested, I will compare some things on this Wiki with the German Wikipedia versions and give suggestions about it.

-- Prince Kassad 16:38, 30 December 2006 (EST)

Yes, please do show me some comparisons. Anything that reduces bloat is a good thing! --Tatrion

[edit] Nice Work

Nice work on the wiki ^_^ --Darkdata 12:12, 10 February 2007 (EST)
