Super Mario Bros. 3 (sometimes referred to as Mario 3 or Super Mario 3) was the last major Mario video game made for the Nintendo Family Computer (in Japan) and the Nintendo Entertainment System (in North America and Europe). It was released on October 23, 1988 in Japan, February 12, 1990 in the United States, and August 29, 1991 in Europe. It was directed by Shigeru Miyamoto, and the music was composed by Koji Kondo. the game featured many new power-ups, such as Raccoon Mario and the Hammer Suit.
