This is the main page for Project Infobox.
In Project Infobox, we're trying to place a user infobox on every mainspace userpage. This is to give a clean, uniform look to all of the user pages and organize the data a lot better.

[edit] Method
The raw code you'll have to put on a userpage to set the infobox looks like this -

- For Name, put the user's most common board name. For example, put Acmlm, not Jean-François Lapointe, his real name, or Ace, one of his nicknames.
- For Avatar, upload the user's current avatar to the wiki and set the image here. The ideal name for it is (username)avatar.png/gif/jpg . Make sure, when you upload, you put in the file description Category:User avatars. This will categorize that avatar will all of the other user avatars.
- For Register date, put the day the user first registered in month, numeric day, year format. For efficiency, you'll probably want to check the first incarnation archive first, unless you know for a fact the user registered in the second or third.
- For Real name, put the user's real name if it's available. This one is OK to leave blank; don't bug the user for it. (I don't want to be held responsible if you get sued for harassment)
- For Position, put the user's current power level. Don't use the numeric value (i.e, 0, 2, 3), use the name of the position (i.e Normal user, Full moderator, Administrator).
- For Highest Position, put the highest position the user reached. This will probably be very difficult to find just by digging in the archives, so it will be MUCH faster to contact whoever through PM. (NOTE: for future reference, ignore the time when all staff got bumped to admin. That doesn't count. That particular thing could use a page though; if you know anything, make it!)
- For Main forums, put the forums the user tends to frequent. The forums a local mod covers should always be put here, but for others, go to the "posts by forum" function in their profile and click "Total". If they have several posts in forums like "Display case" and "The pit of Despair", disregard them.
- For User ID, put the third incarnation user ID of the user here. This will create an automatic link to their profile. If they have profiles on other incarnations, you can place them under a "Links" heading, but it's technically not part of this project. (To get the ID, go to their profile and look in the address bar. It should plainly say .../profile.php?id=xxx. xxx is their ID.)
[edit] Who gets an infobox? (and by association, a page?)
- All members of staff get an infobox.
- Ex-staff get an infobox.
- Very notable regular users that have made an extreme influence to the board get an infobox. This area is very hard to define as "Who is important enough?", but in general, if a user is notable enough, somebody else that's not them will make the page.
- Banned users following the same criteria as above get an infobox.
- Users who your Lord God and Almighty Ninja allows to have a page.
[edit] Joining
Joining Project Infobox is very easy. To mark yourself as a member, simply put the userbox at AcmlmWiki:Project Infobox/userbox on your userpage. Set it by copy/pasting everything between the quotes: "{{AcmlmWiki:Project Infobox/userbox}}". You will want to set up a table to hold your userboxes; they cannot align themselves correctly without one. If you don't want the userbox, you can instead put Category:Members of Project Infobox.
You can also introduce yourself if you want on the talk page of this project, but its not neccessary.

People who have done a lot for Project Infobox can receive an award that they can display on their userpage... if we can get someone to design an award for them. Don't worry about this too much though; contributing is its own reward ;)
