[edit] Local Moderators
A local moderator (power level 1) is generally assigned to one or more forums, in which he or she has the ability to move, close, and sticky threads, and edit and delete threads and posts within their forum. Local moderators also gain access to some of the restricted forums. As with all power levels above 0, local mods are automatically given control over their custom title, whether or not it had previously been awarded to them.
It is worth noting that powerlevel 1 by itself does not confer any moderator abilities. Being assigned as a forum moderator is what gives these abilities, regardless of the user's power level.

A full moderator (power level 2) shares the same powers as a local moderator, except they have power in every forum.

[edit] Administrators
An administrator (normally power level 3) have full moderator powers, as well as several other powers. Admins gain access to all of the restricted forums, can change names at request or if they feel evil, and can also ban and promote users. They are the most powerful people on the board. There is a rarely-used power level 4, which does not grant more access, but it does not update the last activity time.
