The 1000 post challenge, the third version of Happy Hour, started on March 3rd, 2006. The rainbow bar kept track of the total posts in the last 24 hours. It went from 300 posts (the minimum of that day) to 1,000 within a few hours over the course of the challenge.

[edit] The core of the chaos

1,000 posts was chosen because during a conversation between Xkeeper and Colin, Colin did not believe it was possible to hit 1,000 posts... and Xkeeper set out to prove him wrong. Again.

[edit] The Spree

In the beginning, KATW made a topic called CAN WE DO IT? As many of the Happy hour sprees tend to go, this topic received 507 posts in about 3 hours. The entire event was tempered by the greatest coin bonus ever to be seen on Acmlm's Board. Xkeeper's incentive for people to post was a ridiculous coin bonus, which was posts in the last 24 hours times five. At this exponential rate of growth, people who participated actively amassed several million coins, as during the fad's peak, the coin bonus escalated to more than one hundred million coins per post. Most people were able to buy Xkeeper's Equipment and other jokingly maximum-priced items from shop.php.

The bar was started at 9:00 PM, EST, and lasted 12:00 AM, EST. The bar topped at 1,000, but the pointer continued to move farther due to a small oversight in Xkeeper's coding. However, when Xkeeper returned from dinner, he repaired this. He hadn't expected it to surpass 1,000 while he was gone.

Incidentally, the event ended with the board/server momentarily crashing, killing Xkeeper's upload and denying access to all users for a few seconds. It is unknown why this occurred, but it was most likely due to extreme server lag.

[edit] Finale

Near it's end, several people were locked out of posting in the "CAN WE DO IT?" thread, due to an in-built 50-post per topic limit. So they resorted to posting in I'm in the mood for utter chaos.

[edit] Aftermath

Both "CAN WE DO IT" and "I'm in the mood for utter chaos." have been placed into the Display Case to show lasting generations how truly loony the people of Acmlm's Board can be.
